SC20

19 Nov 2020
Place: Online

We are excited to be part of the activities and virtual booth of the Juelich Supercomputing Center (JSC) at SC 2020, the leading international conference for high performance computing, networking, storage, and analysis on 9-19 November. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic this year's SC, takes place as a virtual conference and exhibition for the first time.

JSC together with its partners ParTec and the Jülich Aachen Research Alliance (JARA) present their manifold activities on a brand new virtual booth offering all information at your fingertips. Among these activities, the booth presents two infrastructures driven by the Human Brain Project (HBP): the Fenix infrastructure providing the underlying e-infrastructure services of the EBRAINS research infrastructure, which offers services for brain research.

Visit the virtual booth and check the Fenix video, flyers, and more!

In addition, don't miss our workshop "Archival Data Repository Services to Enable HPC and Cloud Workflows in a Federated Research e-Infrastructure" on Wednesday 11 November at 1:20pm - 1:40pm EST. Presenters Dirk Pleiter (JSC) and Sadaf Alam (CSCS) describe the architecture of the Fenix infrastructure and how it can be used for representative workflows from HBP. The concept of the archival data repository is chosen to highlight demarcation between HPC and cloud access models, while the challenges that remain in integrating the different services at HPC data centres are also discussed.

The workshop is part of the session "SuperCompCloud: 3rd International Workshop on Interoperability of Supercomputing and Cloud Technologies" that is held on Wednesday 11 November at 10am - 1:55pm EST.

About the event

Established in 1988, the annual SC conference continues to grow steadily in size and impact each year. Approximately 5,000 people participate in the technical program, with about 11,000 people overall.

SC has built a diverse community of participants including researchers, scientists, application developers, computing center staff and management, computing industry staff, agency program managers, journalists, and congressional staffers. The eventaddresses every area of scientific and engineering research, as well as technological development, innovation, and education.
