From November 15–17, 2022, the Fenix infrastructure will carry out at SC22 in Dallas, TX, at Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas, a dynamic Birth of Feather session titled "Large Scale Data Management with a Data Lake in a Federated Environment" that will take place on 16 November from 5:15-6:45pm.
In this BoF, we present a vision from industry and academia of establishing a new forum that addresses the need for Next Generation Interfaces in data management in a federated environment.
As part of the BoF, we will first introduce perspectives of this vision and the pressing challenges. Following up, we will then discuss promising approaches that address a subset of the vision, namely for heterogeneous storage and compute environments.
