Eva Gellner (DEEP-EST) and Anne Carstensen (ICEI/Fenix) at the European Exascale Projects and Infrastructure Booth at ISC 2019
ICEI was presented at the ISC High Performance 2019 conference, which took place this year on 16-20 June, in Frankfurt, Germany. The project participated in the conference in two ways: a poster presentation and a shared booth at the exhibition.
Dirk Pleiter and Anne Carstensen from Forschungszentrum Jülich presented the poster “ICEI: HPC Centres Delivering Federated E-Infrastructure Services" on Tuesday 18 June and Wednesday 19 June. The poster provided information about architectural concepts, key services, user access and communities of the Fenix Infrastructure that is built by the ICEI project, as well as an overview of a user workflow within the Fenix Infrastructure.
ICEI also took part in a booth that was jointly organised together with European Exascale projects. The booth was called “European Exascale Projects and Infrastructure” and it showcased the following H2020-funded projects: ASPIDE, DEEP-EST, EXAQUTE, ICEI/Fenix, MAESTRO, Mont-Blanc 2020, and Sage-2. The shared booth successfully attracted a large number of visitors who wished to know more about the projects. Give-aways were also organised for the attendees that took part in the prize draws of the booth.
Anne Carstensen, who was present at the booth, said: “It was a great idea to organise a joint booth together with European Exascale projects in order to inform users about the various initiatives that work hard on preparing Europe for the Exascale era. It allowed us to highlight our efforts and contributions towards building-up an European Exascale infrastructure”.
