After the successful organization of the Public Information Event (PIE) in Barcelona, in which the partners of the project presented their plans on developing the FENIX infrastructure and the requirement from each centre, now it was the turn of the vendors to present their technical feedback in the Request for Information (RFI) meetings.
On 26 and 27 April 2018, the ICEI technical team met with representatives of 10 different leading solution providers, including both global corporations as well as SMEs, all with strong R&D capabilities in Europe. During the on-to-one meetings at the premises of BSC possible approaches to the specific needs of the ICEI project were discussed: FURMS, Data mover, Swift improvements and interactive computing.
“We are very pleased with the response from the market, which demonstrates the strong interest in being involved and provided us with a lot of valuable input” says Dirk Pleiter, ICEI technical coordinator.
The market consultation phase will continue until end of May 2018.
Thereafter it is planned to work on the definition of common requirements and the preparation of tender documents. Further information can be found in the suppliers section of the website.
