Fenix organises a series of webinars to introduce users and relative audiences to the Fenix Infrastructure as well as available services and resources.

1st Fenix Research Infrastructure webinar: HPC and Cloud Infrastructure for Neuroscientists
This webinar offers an overview of ICEI/Fenix and introduces the services and available resources of the Fenix Infrastructure. 2nd Fenix Research Infrastructure webinar: How to exploit ICEI scalable computing services
The goal of this webinar is to introduce participants to the Fenix Scalable Computing Services (SCC). It provides details on the ICEI infrastructure for SCC at the Swiss National Supercomputing Computing Centre (CSCS). 3rd Fenix Research Infrastructure webinar: Guidance on submitting applications
The goal of this webinar is to provide information on the available mechanisms to access the ICEI resources, and in particular: on when and how to submit a request for resources, the evaluation process, and the allocation rules. 4th Fenix Research Infrastructure webinar: How to make best use of ICEI storage resources
ICEI offers two different classes of storage: Active and Archival Data Repositories. In this webinar we will outline the principles of the underlying architectures for both, demonstrate how to leverage them for scientific workflows, and summarise current best practices for achieving high performance. 5th Fenix Research Infrastructure webinar: How to use ICEI's Virtual Machines for deploying platform services
Fenix offers a service for deploying virtual machines (VMs) in a stable and controlled environment. This is offered by the different Fenix sites using the OpenStack platform. This webinar will give an introduction to VMs, and how this infrastructure is suitable for deploying platform services. An overview of the OpenStack Horizon web GUI will be presented, using the example of the Pollux VM service at CSCS. The presentation slides are available here.
6th Fenix Research Infrastructure webinar: Introduction to the JUSUF system at JSC
The JUSUF system at JSC is a hybrid high-performance compute cluster and cloud system that provides scalable and interactive compute services and virtual machine (VM) hosting capabilities. This webinar provides an overview of the hardware and software setup of the JUSUF cluster and cloud partitions and describes introductory-level usage scenarios. 7th Fenix Research Infrastructure webinar: Introduction to the ICEI resources at CEA
This webinar presents ICEI resources available at CEA: HPC resources, cloud resources, filesystems and object storage. It describes the setup of those systems (hardware and software), gives an overview of the user environment, and introduces how to use them. The presentation slides are available here.
8th Fenix Research Infrastructure webinar: Using ICEI resources for processing personal data
This webinar provides a general introduction to the Protection of Personal Data (POPD) and the definition of personal data according to the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It offers an overview of the current regulations for storing and processing of personal data within the Fenix infrastructure, concluding with a concrete example of a project that involves personal data. 9th Fenix Research Infrastructure webinar: Using ICEI resources for Atomistic Molecular Dynamics simulations - A CoVid-19 example
Molecular simulation techniques are becoming crucial in the multidisciplinary approach to fight CoVid-19 and thousands of groups around the world are running simulations on CoVid-19 systems. Many of these researchers, including Modesto Orozco and his team, are using high performance computer (HPC) centres, such as the ones that are part of the ICEI/Fenix Research Infrastructure, as well as expert support services provided by the BioExcel Centre of Excellence for Computational Biomolecular Research. In this webinar, Modesto Orozco gives a summary of some of the CoVid-19 related projects his team is involved in, with special focus on the ones using Molecular Dynamics (MD) and HPC infrastructures. 10th Fenix Research Infrastructure webinar: Introduction to the ICEI resources at BSC
This webinar presents the ICEI resources that will be available at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) for users. Nord3 is a supercomputer based on Intel SandyBridge processors, which will be capable of handling Scalable computing services and Cloud services, and change resources from one service to another. 12th Fenix Research Infrastructure webinar: EBRAINS services deployed on ICEI services: NMC front-end
This webinar presents the remote access services for neuromorphic computing using the EBRAINS infrastructure, including the job queue and compute quota services and the associated web app and Python client. The webinar will show how to use the services from a user perspective, and explain how the services are built and deployed using ICEI OpenStack services. The presentation slides are available here.

17th Fenix Infrastructure Webinar: Federated Resource Management using FURMS
This webinar presents FURMS, the Fenix User and Resource Management service. FURMS allows to allocate compute, storage, and cloud resources within projects at various sites. Resources are provided to the central FURMS instance by the sites.
18th Fenix Infrastructure Webinar: How to implement a secure processing pipeline for human data
This webinar will present existing solutions that enable secure and privacy-protecting processing of human health data in the cloud and on HPC. We will present secure research software solutions accessible via web interfaces with HPC backends and full-fledged Virtual Research Environments with data protection by design and default.
19th Fenix Infrastructure Webinar, "Fenix Data Services: Data Mover and Data Transfer Service"
Fenix computing and data services are separated into the traditional HPC and the newer public cloud environments. Fenix also has two corresponding types of data storage: ACD and ARD. ACD stores the data that needs to be close to the computing resources so that the I/O can be efficiently read and written. And on the other hand, we have ARD for long-term storage that aims for scalability and reliability. In Fenix, you find Data Mover to move data from ACD to ARD within one site and Data Transfer Service to move data from ARD to ARD across sites.
20th Fenix Infrastructure Webinar, "Interactive Computing in Fenix"
The webinar focuses on the fundamental principles of the Interactive Computing approach, highlighting its distinctions from conventional approaches to accessing computational resources. It provides a comprehensive overview of the Interactive computing services available at various Fenix sites, along with a demonstration of the current implementation at CINECA, which has been developed as part of the ICEI project.
21st Fenix Infrastructure Webinar "Planet formation simulations on JUSUF"
Planet formation is a hot topic in astronomy, geosciences and in planetary science. It encompasses the evolution of protoplanerary discs, accretion of small bodies to small planets to large planets, and the interaction between planets and the gas disc.
22nd Fenix Infrastructure Webinar "Fenix Federated Services": In this video, you'll get an overview of Fenix federated services, including Datamover, FURMS, Fenix AAI, and CINECA Interactive Compute. Datamover allows secure and scalable data transfer between different repositories. FURMS lets users manage resource allocations at various Fenix sites. Fenix AAI offers seamless access to Fenix infrastructure services, and CINECA Interactive Compute provides quick graphical access to computing resources. The webinar includes demos and a Q&A session with service owners.
